SG wedding decorations

So we have confirmed the venue to be held at Grand Hyatt hotel. I love to have a bridal holding room next to the event area, furthermore, ‘The Gallery’ at Hyatt hotel is so damn newly renovated. I personally prefer new hotels and the reception area is very very beautiful. We’re also given a solemnisation room, all located within the hall itself! How convenient.

The Fiancé and I will be doing 4 course western dinner. So Ang mo pai style sia~ when we’re so chinesey

I don’t know how we’re going incorporate my modern rustic theme to this elaborated furnishing of the venue. I hope we’ll work something out with Yin, who is helping me out with the decorations. After consulting with Yin, I realise I do not need to engage in a WP since I already know what I want. Yin has many resources and own contacts, so she will help to liase with them directly, tell them what I want, and see what they can do. More than one year of planning, I think, there shouldn’t be any problem. After-all, I love to hands on my wedding decorations.

The pre-event area. Super spacious!

      • Thanks! Congrats to you too! When’s your big day?
I’m also looking at their 2014 package.. I love the venue but it is stretching my budget so I’m still considering!

  1. How many tables are you getting? Are you hiring any vendors to do your decor and stuff? The sales manager is very helpful and accommodating. I took out a lot of items from the hotel and exchange for something useful instead. My date is on 30th Aug. How about yours? How’s your planning going so far?

    • I’m looking at minimum of 22 tables. Who’s your sales manager and which items did you exchange? I’m trying to get better perks but it seems pretty hard. My date’s on 3 months after yours, 30th Nov! So far haven’t really done much planning, trying to settle venue first. Next up will be photography & videography!

  2. i couldnt hit min 20 tables and had to pay for the minimum amount. My sales manager is Amy. I opted out; flowers centerpiece, aisle decor, invites… thats an extreme precise 3 months wedding date from mine! There is a wedding fair this coming sat, will you be attending? so you already know which vendors you gonna hire I suppose. Its so excited to plan wedding isnt?!

    • Which wedding fair is it? I will be viewing Grand Copthorne’s ballroom this Sat, kinda like the idea of an outdoor solemnization! Haha, ya it’s super exciting.. even though it’s a year away, but you look forward to it so much! xD

  3. Its at sunset city convention hall. For this weekend tho. To think I didn’t get the chance to attend any wedding fair prior booking all vendors. I was told by Amy that the hotel will hold a fair sometime next March. It’s for the new ballroom which is similar like gallery but more wedding tables.

I did wanted to have outdoor wedding to have that rustic theme to the wedding but there’s no suitable venue to do that. And now my fiance and I ended up with indoor wedding instead
    :-\

    • I think the weather here is too unforgiving to have an outdoor wedding! haha.. you managed to book all your vendors already??

      • Precisely! I had wanted to hold my solemnisation at the suspended pool over at capella hotel but it’s so expensive. Everything additional is being charged at high price and the service was not great either. I’d rather pay more for a good service. I started my wedding planning with booking A PG first before looking at venue. Next I just have to book florist and confirm make up artist. I’ve went for two trial and hopefully with the last one, I can secure this and strike off from my to do list.

  4. Wow you are like almost all done luh! Hyatt’s service seems pretty good; I would go with them but they’re really pushing my budget. I see that you are having a Batam wedding as well?

    • I started planning my wedding way before I met my fiancé actually so when the day finally come, i know who i want. How old are you btw? I do know the budget problem! Definitely gonna make a loss since its gonna cost more than $200 per pax. We don’t expect every guests to give us more than that. I just hope for the best!

I’m from batam so the wedding there is totally different from sg. So I’m going to have two different themes for sure. Double wedding planning work.hell yea.do you have a wedding blog?

      • Haha no wonder! I only just got my “auspicious wedding date” two weeks back, and immediately start whacking the various hotels cos the “fortuneteller” only gave me one date! My fiance’s from China so I’m having another wedding in China too – Feb 15 for the banquet there. I know nuts about their side, except that traditions wise it’s actually simpler than the Singapore ones?! So yeps, glad to find someone who’s also doing double wedding planning. Don’t have time to set up a wedding blog just yet! Spending a lot of time on the web trying to decide on the theme and palette I like – I like too many things!!!

  5. I know… its crazy that I find myself adding more and more elements to my current theme. luckily i havent confirm anything yet! are you hiring any decorator to do up your wedding? how about theme and color scheme??

    • I probably won’t need a decorator cos I’ve decided to have it at Grand Shanghai! Decor there is beautiful, so not much to add on. My girlfriend hired Zyn from Le FairyMeadow to do up her ROM decorations at Goodwood Park’s poolside! Theme wise I’m gonna be going with vintage oriental since I’m having it at Grand Shanghai. Color scheme I’m thinking like the autumn colors, red, cream, and a bit of gold! I hope it’s not too Chinese-sy though. Haha.. been busy looking for a place to MTM my gown. Have you found your dream gown???

      • I’m actually having a red and gold wedding colors for my batam wedding too! And I’m looking at glamour + gatsby theme. Will meet up with WP soon! And I will be going to NY in a weeks time to shop for gowns! What kind of gown you looking at?

  6. Hi! I surfed in by googling “grand Hyatt wedding Singapore Amy”. I am looking at getting married next feb and got to speak to amy. How is she as a wedding coordinator and how did your wedding go in the end? Thanks!!

    Ghim

    • Hi Ghim, congratulations to you! Amy is a very nice lady to work with..She’s the reason I decided to go ahead with Grand Hyatt, very friendly and helpful, unlike those other sales staff at other hotels(very stuck up and refuse to answer more question)After she left, my wedding was taken over by another coordinator and everything Amy & I had talked through prior was well executed. You’re in the right hand. Enjoy your wedding planning!
